The old city market at Dominican square

Have you been to the old city market in Košice? The trade market has a long history in Košice, Slovakia. Back in the Middle Ages when the town was granted its coat of arms (1369) for its bravery and courage, the title allowed several privileges to come into action. Some of those were the city’s own trade markets. The aim was to provide space for salesmen, farmers and growers from nearby and also more remote regions. Consequently, the city began to develop its status and political importance. Today, you can still enjoy the magic of the traditional way of shopping and big shopping malls as well. The oldest and largest market is situated at Dominican square just behind Main Street. Stop by and treat yourself with fresh veggies & fruits grown by local farmers and planters.
